The Dark Security Lining of i-Cloud
Monday, 15 August 2011 08:06

The iCloud is the new arrival in the Apple family, which has caused extreme excitement among the Apple fans. The iCloud is expected to bring more customers to Apple and boost the idea of cloud computing.

As per the view of the analysts, this device is expected to make the customers more ‘stickier’ to Apple! This device automatically gives the backup of any data and supports the storage thereby making it easy for a person to set up new iDevices. This is because everything on the person’s old device would be on the icloud and all the information just needs to be downloaded to the new one! Moreover, the user’s content and information is automatically updated including all the documents created and then they are synced with the user’s new device. Though this may soundas an extremely good and time saving application to the users, the matter of security is still a question here.

The security of data becomes an issue when it comes to the corporate world, where lots of executives and workers use the idevices. Here, the executives who use these devices can either deliberately or even accidentally leave the confidential information regarding their company unprotected. If this happens, when they are trying to get the information and contents into the new device, someone else may come across it, when the devices are automatically synced on their iCloud.

This would mean instant leak of the secrets of the company! This is a question that has been troubling the users, and it has been brought into the attention of the Apple providers that the device may become insecure if synced so publically. But the Apple hasn’t given any comments or solutions on this problem yet and all the while, they have kept mum about this major defect or disadvantage of their product!
