Undoubtedly, the amount of portable devices which need USB interface to be recharged is increasing and therefore it was decided to create a wall socket, that has USB connectors with incorporated power adapter. It was named a U-Socket, which is actually a duplex AC receptacle including USB ports. This way it can provide power for any device with capability to be recharged with assistance of a 5V power adapter, when the power adapter is not necessary. U-Socket is 15 Amp, 125 Volt NEMA connector which is compliant 5-15R, provides a BTO Tamper Resistant Option. It features as well auto-sensing wattage technology that eventually cuts on the general power draw. Besides, using the U-socket one can charge simultaneously 4 different devices and there is no need for extra adapters. This feature makes the socket more advanced than other options available at the market. In addition, it's also essential to mention that U-Socket is universal, taking into consideration its ability to be used for impressive number of devices, such as iOS devices ( iPod, iPad, iPhone), digital cameras, Blackberry, PSP, Nintendo, GPS navigators, Bluetooth Headsets, and etc. In other words, if the device is supported by USB interface it can be powered with U-Socket.
Fastmac charges reasonable price for it. There are 2 versions available: the standard version – 20 dollars and the Decora, which has an enhanced design – about 24 dollars. |
