The notions in regard to computers have always continually changed over ages. In today’s age the thought of computers makes one associate it with laptop, desktop or probably a smart phone. Mr. Sergey Brin CEO and co-founder of Google always use a technology called Google glass during his demonstrations at the Google discussions. What one perceives to be a computer today might undergo drastic changes according to the latest plans and ideologies devised by Google. Google recently launched a new prototype called as Google computerized eye glasses in San Francisco at its recent I/O developer’s conference. The powered eyeglasses powered by Android are outfitted with memory, a processor, camera, display screen and GPS sensors. Co-founder of Google Sergey Brin and CEO said that Google Glass development attempt is about "doing things in a new way which would make today’s devices as per the thoughts of science fictions. Next generation computers might not be required to be put on a desk or in one’s hand or lap, the gadgets may also not have any monitors or keyboards and use different ways by which a user would interface with the system. Computers might be worn inside one’s glasses or embedded in a jewelry piece like a bracelet. Patrick Moorhead one of the analyst of Moor Insights and Strategy opines that the recent Google glass technology will change the way people look at computers currently. The device would not just be a piece of research subject but would be a workable prototype which can be used for demonstration to the public. Moorhead thinks Google glass would serve to stretch the technology ecosystem to greater lengths. He believes that in 5 years we would see several dissimilar form factors as well as brands of computers that are wearable. We would be having computers in our eye glasses of course, but as well in our watches and jewelry." This technology is already in use by the US military; specially the SF Units used for communication as well as GPS tasks but haven’t still been phased out to the general public consisting of consumers and business users. Google’s’ intended plan to go ahead with these actions would speed up the conventional use of technologies to a greater extent.
Desktops which were once not portable to be moved around would be abolished and people would be able to roam around freely with computers inside their watches jewelry or even inside their bodies. Charles King one of the analyst of Pund-IT believes that these new computing features are an addition of the present mobile trend and eventually will take GPS enabled smart phones, and growing computer portability and superior usage flexibility and communications to a next level high which are still part of our imagination process. There is no end to imagination and thinking about better and advanced high end systems and Google’s research is surely not leaving any stone unturned in order to accomplish this marvelous feat which till date is just a part of imagination for the general mass in terms of the current age technologies. |
