Apple will make every effort for release of revamped and smaller iPad by Q1 2011, in accordance with the industry analyst statement. After talk with Apple suppliers, the expert of the company Rodman & Renshaw Ashok Kumar asserts that Apple will show most probably a 7 inch iPad in order to be competitive on the market and leave the Samsung Galaxy Tab behind as far as video call features is concerned.

Let us remind you that latest generation iPad has a 9.7” screen. When Kumar was interviewed for Bloomberg, he expressed the view that Apple is trying to catch up with other companies on video conference features.  The rumors circulated already about 7-inch iPad and fuel to these rumors is always added. They say about its similarity with iPhone4 in design.

Apple seems to pay attention to Galaxy Tab thanks to its capabilities of video conferencing. There was much talk before also about features of new iPad, such as a front-facing camera, video calling feature FaceTime, which is working with WiFi connection. This is the only program of video conferencing available via WiFi and it is present already in iPhone and iPod touch. Apple seems to look for the way to place FaceTime-feature into all possible devices with a hope to make it an industry standard in video conferencing segment.

There has been speculation concerning iPad of the next generation since last spring, when the device was launched. There was a report in the DigiTimes in the middle of August about the potential of this device to run on a multicore processor ARM Cortex A9. It was also reported about its IPS panel display1024 x 768 with better color and viewing angles. In the meantime, weblog Boy Genius Report presented evidence that field testing of iPad of the next generation was supposedly in progress.

Gossip about the new gadget keeps on boosting, mainly since after its rival was announced -  Samsung Galaxy Tab, provided with a seven inch display and video call possibilities. Samsung has expressed the view that size of a tablet should be diminished for portability. It must be also compact for thumbing. The memory of the device can be expanded up to 32 GB. Besides, it features rear and front cameras in addition to a 1 GHz hummingbird processor.
