ZyXEL presents with pride innovative N4100 appliance and claims that this is the first in the world 802.11n alternative to provide high-speed Wi-Fi hotspot and public access operations.

Created to be placed behind a current firewall, the N4100 comes together with a thermal printer. Thermal printer connects ZyXEL appliance to automatize the creation of Internet account and billing. It also features Ethernet port that can be placed at any place if the subnet is the same. The printer isn't important; web interface of the appliance can be employed, though the Internet account creation is not easier in this case. As the user sets up an account there is a wizard at web interface to assist in performance of this task.  Wireless AP and printer set up should also be made. Then the only thing left is to appoint account values to its buttons.

All users of wireless network or LAN loading Internet browser receive redirection to a login portal. Each client has to fill in the information on the ticket there, which contains as well an encryption key and wireless SSID. Ticket info can come up with details concerning the location of the login portal and its content. One can make a decision about the duration of the valid account, can choose the option of one-time access to the Internet or decides upon the accumulation of time.

The access is not allowed between the wireless users and LAN ports and is it impossible to change that. The security is tight. But shared LAN resources can be determined by IP/MAC addresses. The table of pass-through is made in which some IP addresses obtain access to Internet without restrictions.

You can use the database of 512 entries for authentication. You can add a radius server too and can redirect the user to other portal. It is able to support about a hundred users simultaneously but it is possible to increase this figure twice.

You can enhance the management of Internet bandwidth. The full log of accounts, both used and active, is available, so you can control the situation and disconnect the users you want. The users’ activity can be followed with list of addresses the person visited.

There is a chance to sell the portal space too. Login portal can be customized and details about your enterprise can be added there.

This is an ideal solution to have easily managed hotspot services without extra efforts.
