HP Slate should not be compared with iPad

This week 500 HP tablets were released and the reaction that followed was natural. People started comparing the model with Apple’s iPad. Actually, these devices don’t share common features.

They are absolutely different and belong to different types of devices. They were even called the opposites, so there is no much sense in comparing them. But many seem not to see the difference between them. But if you want to have a clear understanding of the mobile market, you should understand the difference between the two.

It is similar to comparing the car with the bicycle. Using this comparison it can be easier to see clearly the distinguishing feature of both categories.  If PC is a car, then Slate will be a motocycle, while iPad becomes the bicycle. This is natural that the motorcycle is more powerful than the bicycle, which is iPad.

Does that mean that Slate is better? This is silly to compare because there are other features too like functionality, versatility and usability by wide category of users and many others. Each device has its own functions and is better for certain categories of users.

The Slate runs the OS of your computer and laptop. All its components are made for personal computers with eight time more RAM amount and computer applications are not changed. You can use it without mother and a keyboard, just using its screen. But iPad is used as an addition to PC and not an alternative.
