Dell is Ready to Pay $960 for Compellent

Dell is going to buy Compellent, wDell is Ready to Pay $960 for Compellent hich is a storage technology company assessed at $960 million.

The deal was valued $960 million and this is 10 million more than Dell offered at the very beginning. Long negotiations resulted in this sum. Compellent was chosen as potentially important company with research in the sphere which is of particular interest to Dell. The deal is aimed at boosting storage business of Dell.

The storage platform of Compellent will give Dell the possibility to supply the clients with storage solutions, which diminish the expenses on data management, and makes it simpler.

Now Dell has integration in plans and wants to unite Compellent products and services. This acquisition is rather strategic for Dell which wants to remain on top in the area of storage offerings.

Though the company does not have problems with moving of the server hardware into data centers, Hewlett Packard won the bidding war earlier. During this way the price of the targeted company 3Par increased twice. No company is in the way this time and Dell hopefully will reach the goal at once.

The price of every share is US$27.75, a bit more than was discussed a week ago, but it is not as high as the opening price on the stock on Monday morning.
