Google announced that the company is going to support 3 airlines of the USA with free WI-Fi for the purpose of Chrome Internet Browser promotion. It resembles the action that took place a year earlier when wi-fi was offered free of charge in the 50 airports of the country for the seasonal vacation period. The campaign of this year involves collaboration with Virgin America, Delta and AirTran. The travelers making domestic flights will be provided with wireless access to the Internet. The promotion period will begin on the 20th of November prior to a Thanksgiving Day and will continue to the 2nd of January. All travelers will see the Chrome advertisement as they start using GoGo Internet service. It will be provided with detailed description of the browser and an offer to download it. The possessor of any wireless device will get this possibility. Three airports have about 700 airplanes used for domestic flights. Delta is the biggest airport which has about 550 airplanes all over the world. All aircrafts for domestic use will be equipped with GoGo Internet service for the promotion period. Last year in the same action Google promoted generally the products of the company. Thanks to such moves Google Chrome becomes more and more popular and 8.5% of all Internet users chose this browser. You see that in comparison with the last year when only 3,6% of people used Chrome this figure has doubled within a year. |
