Facebook considers that X-rated social network under the name Faceporn has infringed the Facebook trademark rights and therefore sues it. Facebook representatives think that Faceporn just copied their ideas but provide pornographic content.

Faceporn is down for several days already saying that it is under redesign. Faceporn claims to be the best porn and sex network.

Facebook sued the resource in the middle of October, saying that they play on the resemblance of some features. There are certain elements in Facebook opinion that can be referred as the property of Facebook, and they can sue for the use of words “face” and “book”.

There was a similar case in the past, when they sued the Teachbook which did not look like Facebook at all, though it was a network. It was made for the teachers.

Many people expressed their dissatisfaction with the way Facebook asserts that common English words: face and book belong to their company.

This is ridiculous in the opinion of many Internet users. However, the filing of the court contains data that Faceporn just copied logo and website, used the same colors. Now they ask to hand over the domain of Faceporn to them and the profit as well. Facebook regards that this website tarnishes the reputation of Facebook.
