The majority of Americans check e-mails even on holidays

When holidays come it is time to switch off computer and forget about work. But it seems that Americans can’t relax. According to the results of the poll 59% of people still check the e-mail on holidays similar to the Thanksgiving.

55% of them perform the check once daily and about 28% do it many times. Men more often answer the call of Blackberry and 67% regularly check the text massages. The percentage of women is less here – about 50% do the same.

2,179 people from 18 years old were involved in the poll.

It is interesting to point out that the emotions when people got messages were not happy at all. Usually these e-mails come from clients or colleagues.  It happens in the 79% of cases. 41% of people are irritated over the letters, but the young seem to be less frustrated over them.

At the same time about 15% were glad to be distracted. 12% are afraid to get news. 10% take pity on people who have to send e-mails on holidays.

What is the necessity of checking inbox on holidays if people are so negative about it? The biggest part of them just wants not keep abreast of times. This is 42% of people. They do not want to accumulate work and prefer to be aware what awaits them after holidays. It must be noted as well that check of inbox helps many people to avoid some awkward situations in the family and was used as an escape.
