Ghosts from the past pursue Dell

Dell hDell-logoas taken measures to enhance support and services of the company, but precedent incidents of bad customer support continue to bring harm to the company, according to the statement of an analyst on Friday.

The charges against this company assert that from 2003 to 2005 a great number of desktop personal computers were distributed with faulty components. Numerous documents prove the fact that Dell tried to conceal the problems refusing to recall products of bad quality.

The majority of problems appeared because of low motherboards capacity. Nichicon is the company which supplied them. Within the 2 year term about 11.8 million computers were shipped.

The problem became a concern of multiple PC makers, but the solution was found as Dell asserts. The computers were fixed and the warranty was extended in case there were faulty parts in the systems.

When the problems of the kind arise, the negative perception of the company harms the reputation and when the service works in a poor way, the customers avoid buying PCs of the brand.

Dell agreed that it encountered support issues before and did everything to correct the situation. But still the impression from bad service remains for a long time. Sometimes it takes years to return it back.
